The Disability Rights Commission 2004 Survey of 1000 websites
showed that 81% failed to meet minimum standards of accessibility set by W3C. In addition, accessible sites were 34% quicker to navigate for a non-disabled person.
Building Accessible Websites
Cascading style sheets (CSS) - these can be controlled from the browser and the computer's operating system allowing you to change the colour of text, the background colour and the type of font and the way the page is displayed. Some developers hard code the font so it can’t be changed and that’s not ideal.
